Bring making and mending to your event

Fleurieu Made designs and runs hands-on knitting, customisation, upcycling and repair experiences for brands, councils, workplaces and festivals across Adelaide and regional South Australia. Guests work with something they own, or make something they keep, guided by a maker with 25 years of knitwear experience. We come to your venue with everything needed.

Book us for

  • Brand activations. A repair or customisation station that shows your customers you stand behind what you sell.
  • Councils and community. Drop-in mending days that divert textiles from landfill and teach a skill.
  • Workplace teams. Two quiet, absorbing hours that leave everyone with something made by hand.
  • Festivals and markets. Open-table formats for crowds. People join for ten minutes or an hour.

The two questions we're asked most at any event are "can you make this fit?" and "can you customise this for me?" so every format below can include a fit and customisation station on request.

Formats

1. The mending table. Guests bring a knit or a favourite garment with a hole, pull or worn patch. We teach darning, Swiss darning and visible mending by hand. Suits drop-in crowds.

2. Branded repair activation. A repair station for your product and your customers, staffed by us, in your space. Each repair can be logged under the FM Repair Protocol, giving you data on what fails and what was fixed.

3. Try the machine. Guests knit a swatch or a simple wristband or coaster on a domestic knitting machine. Noisy, fast and so much fun!

4. Merch makeover. Turn leftover branded beanies, scarves or jumpers into something people want to wear, using embroidery, patches and duplicate stitch.

5. Customisation and fit. Our most requested station. Guests bring a piece that no longer fits or suits them: a hem taken up, a neckline adjusted, sleeves shortened, or a plain piece personalised with colour, patches or embroidery. $120 flat fee, including assessment and fit.

6. Unravel and reknit: an upcycling station. Guests bring a knitted piece they no longer wear. We unravel it back to yarn in front of them, a genuinely satisfying thing to watch, and talk through what it can become next.

The assessment is free. Unravelling is a flat $60. A reknit is priced by item: $65 for a beanie, $120 for a scarf, $165 for a poncho, or $350 for a jumper. Small pieces can be reknitted on the spot; a full remake is quoted at the table and posted afterward. This format works especially well paired with a short talk on why unravelling and reknitting is at the heart of circular fashion, and the FM Index®.

Frequently asked questions

What is a repair activation?

A staffed repair station at a store, event or workplace where customers have garments mended or learn to mend them. It demonstrates product care and extends garment life.

How much does an activation cost?

$4,000 flat for up to 10 guests and 2 hours, whatever the activity. Larger groups, longer sessions, multi-day activations or interstate travel are quoted separately.

Can you alter fit or customise a piece at the event?

Yes. Customisation and fit are our two most requested formats, for a flat $120 fee.

Can I bring an old jumper to unravel and remake?

Yes, under our unravel and reknit format. Assessment is free, unravelling is $60, and a remake is priced by item: $65 for a beanie up to $350 for a jumper.

How far ahead should we book?

Four weeks for a workshop. Eight weeks for a multi-day activation.

Do guests need experience?

None.

Can you theme it to our brand or campaign?

Yes. Colours, yarn, the item made and signage can all be tailored.
