About Us

Fleurieu Made is a knitwear studio on South Australia’s Fleurieu Peninsula, creating long‑lasting scarves, wraps and accessories from carefully sourced vintage yarns. Each piece is designed and knitted by founder and textile researcher Angelina Russo, drawing on her Italian textile heritage and decades of practice in sustainable, circular design.

Fleurieu Made in one glance

Fleurieu Made brings together artisanal making, circular textiles and local manufacturing in a single studio on the Fleurieu Peninsula. Every piece is produced in small batches or as a one‑off, using vintage and deadstock yarns to create knitwear that feels special, wears beautifully and is made to last.

  • Artisanal knitwear studio based in South Australia
  • Scarves, wraps and accessories made from vintage yarns
  • Designed for longevity, repair and everyday use

What we make

Fleurieu Made focuses on thoughtfully designed, small‑run pieces that work hard in real wardrobes.

  • Winter and trans‑seasonal scarves, wraps and accessories
  • One‑off and limited‑edition designs using vintage and deadstock yarns
  • Fully fashioned knitwear produced on flat‑bed machines in our Fleurieu studio

Our collections are intentionally tight, so each piece has a clear purpose and a strong story, rather than adding more noise to already crowded wardrobes.

How we work: circular and local

Fleurieu Made is built around circular principles and a strong regional manufacturing base.

  • We work almost exclusively with vintage and surplus yarns, giving existing materials a second life instead of commissioning new fibre.
  • We knit and finish every piece locally on the Fleurieu Peninsula, supporting regional making and keeping skills close to community.
  • We produce in small batches to avoid overproduction and to keep each piece traceable, repairable and genuinely special.

Alongside our knitwear, Fleurieu Made contributes to research and experimentation in circular fashion, exploring how digital tools, local manufacturing and community repair can support more regenerative wardrobes.

Learning, research and consultancy

Fleurieu Made is also a space for learning, conversation and collaboration around circular fashion.

  • Skills‑based workshops and courses focused on knitwear, repair and wardrobe care
  • Research projects that connect regional manufacturing, circular textiles and innovation
  • Consultancy and speaking for brands, organisations and communities exploring circular fashion transitions

These activities sit alongside the studio practice, so everything learnt through research and teaching feeds back into the pieces made in the workshop.
