Fleurieu Made repairs knitwear in Normanville, South Australia, and accepts mail-in repairs from anywhere in Australia. We mend moth holes, pulled threads, worn cuffs, elbows and hems in wool, cashmere, cotton and blends. Every job follows the FM Repair Protocol, so you receive a written repair record with your garment.
How it works
- Tell us about it. Fill in the repair form with two photos: the whole garment and the damage.
- Assessment. We assess the garment under the FM Repair Protocol and send a fixed quote within 3 business days. The assessment fee of price is credited to your repair.
- Send or drop off. Post or drop off
- Repair. Most repairs take 2 to 3 weeks. You choose invisible or visible mending.
- Return with a repair record. Your garment comes back with a record of what was damaged, what was done, the yarn used and how to care for it.

We do not repair footwear, leather or woven tailoring.
What is the FM Repair Protocol?
The FM Repair Protocol is Fleurieu Made's documented method for assessing and repairing garments. Each repair generates one record describing the garment, its materials and construction, the fault, the intervention, and the outcome.
The result is a repair record that stays with the garment. It supports resale value, warranty claims and, for brands, evidence of repair in use. Brands and repairers can license the protocol. See the FM Index®.
Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to repair a jumper?
Small holes start from $60. Re-knitting a cuff or elbow costs more. You receive a fixed quote after assessment, before any work begins.
How much does a fit or customisation change cost?
$120 flat fee, covering assessment and the work itself.
How much does it cost to unravel and remake a piece?
$60 to unravel, once you approve a free assessment, plus the price of what you have made from the yarn: $65 for a beanie, $120 for a scarf, $165 for a poncho, or $350 for a jumper.
Is it worth repairing?
If the fibre is good, usually yes. If we think a garment is not worth repairing, we will say so at assessment and suggest remaking or responsible disposal.
Can you match the yarn?
We match fibre, weight and colour as closely as available yarn allows. Where a match is not possible we will suggest a visible mend.
Do you repair machine-made and hand-knitted pieces?
Both.
Can I post my garment from interstate?
Yes. Wash it first, pack it in a sealed bag, and include your order number.
Do you treat for moths?
No but we can repair moth holes and/or teach you how to do it.
