I designed this shawl with my dear sister-in-law in mind. She needed to be wrapped in warmth, and I gifted the first one to her. It is knitted in two strands of alpaca yarn on the Fleurieu Peninsula, South Australia.
Size: 90 cm wide x 2 m long.
Fibre: two strands of alpaca yarn knitted as one.
How it's made: knitted on a standard Singer 4.5mm machine in two pieces that are joined on the machine. The collar is then knitted on by rehanging the work, so it is part of the garment rather than sewn on.
Finish: hand finished, washed, steamed flat, then tagged.
Make time: around 5 hours per shawl.
Care: hand wash only.
Repair: we mend what we make. If it wears, get in touch.
