The Heirloom Repair

One garment. One price. Ready for Christmas.

There is a jumper in the back of the cupboard that someone knitted by hand. It has a hole, a tired cuff, a bit of pilling. It is too good to throw out and too worn to give. We repair it, refresh it and send it back boxed, with a label that records who made it, so it can be passed to the next generation.

What is included

• Assessment of the garment and its yarn
• Repair of up to three small holes (under 2 cm), or one cuff, hem or seam
• Full refresh: de-pill, hand wash, block and reshape
• A sewn-in woven label: "Knitted by [name], [year]. Repaired Fleurieu Made [year]"
• An FM Repair Protocol card: the record of the garment, its maker and the repair, to stay with it
• A plain gift box, ready to wrap

Anything beyond the inclusions is quoted before work begins. If the garment is beyond repair, we will tell you, and we can talk about recovering the yarn and reknitting it into a new piece.

Christmas dates

• Post your garment to us before Monday 30 November and it will be back in the post to you by Monday 7 December.
• Places are limited so please send early.
• Missed the cut-off, or want to give the repair itself? Choose the Gift Voucher. It comes boxed and ready to give, and the recipient sends their garment in the new year. 
• Order vouchers by Wednesday 16 December for delivery before Christmas.

How it works

1. Order, then post your garment to the Studio in Normanville, or drop it into me in Adelaide's CBD. We will email the address and a short form for the maker's name and year.
2. We assess it within three days and confirm any work outside the inclusions.
3. It comes back repaired, refreshed, labelled and boxed, with its FM Repair Protocol card. Return postage within Australia is included.

Our promise

Every repair is guaranteed for 12 months. If something gives way, send it back and we will fix it.

Knitwear is too special not to repair.
